Abstract

Parotid gland sialolithiasis is an uncommon cause of cheek swelling and is frequently misdiagnosed due

to its variable clinical presentation. This report describes a rare case of parotid duct sialolithiasis in a

25-year-old male presenting with intermittent meal-related cheek swelling and pain. Clinical

examination, ultrasonography, and cone beam computed tomography facilitated accurate diagnosis. The

calculi were successfully managed by transoral sialolithotomy with preservation of ductal patency.

One-year follow-up revealed satisfactory healing with no recurrence. This case emphasizes the

importance of considering parotid sialolithiasis in the differential diagnosis of buccal swellings and

highlights the role of appropriate imaging and surgical management.
